A little reminder about respecting small businesses and the people behind them. ❤️
-When you invite a professional into your home to provide an estimate, that estimate is based on the size of the home, the amount of work required, the level of detail expected, the experience of the person doing the work, and the care they bring into your home.
At Gigi’s Pristine Cleaning Co., I take all of those things seriously.
If I give you a clear estimate (that is already lower than the market) and you have a budget that is lower than my quoted price, I completely understand. You are absolutely allowed to say, “That’s more than I’m looking to spend.”
And I am absolutely allowed to say, “I understand, but that is my price.”
If I choose to accept your offer, that doesn't mean the value of my work magically changes. It means the scope of the work needs to match the amount being paid.
This goes both ways.
If I called a contractor to my home and they gave me an estimate for a job, I would never tell them, “I know what your work is worth, but I'm only willing to pay you X amount, so that's what you're getting.”
I would expect them to either accept my budget and adjust the work accordingly—or politely decline the job.
Small business owners deserve that same respect.
I love what I do. I care about my clients, I care about their homes, and I take tremendous pride in the work I provide. ❤️
But loving what you do doesn't mean your time, honor, work ethics, experience, equipment, supplies, travel, and hard work don't have value.
So please, if you receive an estimate from a small business, remember:
You don't have to accept the price.
But you don't get to decide what someone else's work is worth.
And if our prices don't meet your budget, that's okay. There is no hard feeling whatsoever. I genuinely wish you the best and hope you find someone who is the right fit for you.
That's good business. That's respect. And that's how we can all support one another. ❤️
