Cold temps are around the corner, and your plumbing doesn't care how nice it was today. Run through this list before the first freeze catches you off guard.

✅ Outdoor hose bibs: disconnect your hoses now. A connected hose traps water in the line and one hard freeze can crack the pipe behind the wall.
✅ Water heater: if it's over 10 years old and the hot water takes forever to reach the master bath, it's telling you something. Don't wait for it to decide for you.
✅ Slow drains: if you've been treating a slow drain with store-bought products for more than a month, you're not fixing it. You're delaying it.
✅ Septic: if you can't remember the last time it was pumped, it's time. Holiday guests are 8 weeks out.
✅ Crawlspace pipes: any exposed pipe in an unheated crawlspace needs insulation before the first freeze hits.

None of these are emergencies yet. That's the point. Handle it now and you won't spend a Saturday morning in crisis mode.
