Couldn't resist adding a few more to the flock when I saw the Blue Laced Wynadottes at the feed store. They are a beautiful bird, very docile, and lay about 200-240 large brown eggs a year. The other little yellow chick is a Buff Orpington. We'll probably name her Butter Ball or something like that. Last week I got 12 chicks(one died) Making it a total of 23 hens and 1 rooster.

Last night, I made two pans of my homemade southern style biscuits. One for me for biscuits and gravy and the other one to sell.

For a pan, they are $15. The person that bought the second pan wrote and said OMG... these biscuits 😍

Made with real butter, heavy cream, and buttermilk!

If you ever want some, feel free to message me!!

A few things from the grocery store for the kiddos and I....

As you can see we have grapefruits, apples, oranges, berries, some greens, tuna packets(they love these), some protein and cheese to grab and go.

But they also have some junk food like cereal, takis, uncrustables, etc...

It's all about balance 😎

"Children require special protection from harm, and are particularly vulnerable from a dietary and nutritional status perspective due to their limited ability to make genuine choices, their susceptibility to influences such as food marketing, and their developmental need for adequate nutrition."
(Fanzo, 2015)

WE have to be the change! WE have to control what goes into our children's mouths! WE have to pave the way by setting a good example, OR the prevalence of non-communicable diseases such as OBESITY, DIABETES, and HEART DISEASE will keep skyrocketing!!!

I can help you and your family create healthy habits that will last you a lifetime. Small changes equal big rewards!!

My weight loss story part 1…
Why am I so passionate about helping others get their health and life back? Because I KNOW what it is like. I have gained and lost weight five times now!
It has been a long journey for me to get where I am today. When I was a child, I grew up eating a lot of cereal, top a rame, Pepsi's, corn nuts, Doritos, burritos, and the list goes on. There was so much poverty where I grew up. Food stamps and commodities were the norms to survive. This equated to cheap processed food for the most part. I was never slim like my friends. I always had a little weight that stayed on me.
When I became a teenager, I was diagnosed with endometriosis and many other female issues. It seemed that no matter what I did and what I ate, I kept gaining weight. At this point, I still ate like crap. I lost around 50 lbs with weight watchers with my Mom, and then I gained it all back when I got to college.
By the time the doctor told me my hormones were way out of whack, I was around 220 lbs. How can someone like me row on the University crew team six days a week and lift weights four days a week at 220lbs? I did…and the weight would not come off. Slowly but surely, I was determined to get it off once and for all. I decided enough was enough and started learning about proper nutrition, helping with my inflammation, helping with my hormones, helping with my mood, and so forth. Slowly I lost around 70 lbs and was about 160 lbs when I got pregnant with my first son.
You see, I have been there, I have done that, and I am still walking this journey out. I am relatable and would love to help you with your goals and walk with you on your health journey.
(Since the second weight loss I have described above, I have done it three more times. That story, though, is for another day….after finals week…lol)
