I know everyone is watching the Superbowl, but we needed to share this with Noah's followers....

Noah just completed his first 12 months as CEO of Canned! When tallying up how much Noah made from his own personal garbage route this year, it came to.......

Drumroll.....

$1060!!!!!

Noah follows the 70/20/10 rule:
$742 in Savings account
$212 spending for fun
$106 tithed to Church

It may not seem a lot to us adults, but Noah only works 2 hours per week, so he is making $10/hr at 10 years old! But it's not about the money......Noah has learned so much this year. We planned our family activities around Noah's committment to his customers. Not a week went by that Noah's customers' cans were not at the curb. We have been praised as parents even though Noah does most of the work. Noah has gained self-confidence and can deliver presentations and speeches with ease when he was once terrified. Not many 10 year olds can say they auditioned for Shark Tank.

But the best was when Noah realized he tithed $106 this year. I never saw my son actually cry happy tears until tonight. Mommy is an emotional wreck!

Thank you for everyone's advice, support, and generosity. You have helped Noah become the young man he is, and we are so grateful to have you in our lives!

Last night at the GOP dinner! Noah was asked to speak about his journey with Canned! We are proud to give children a way to earn a small income and learn responsibility and work ethic!

After watching Noah take out the trash for his customers for the past 8 months, never missing a week, I am confident that he will be a respected and honorable employee when he gets his first "real job." He has done a great job managing his time, prioritizing his daily tasks, saving his money and being thoughtful in his purchases, and respecting his neighbors and customers. He has truly grown this past year and it has been truly remarkable to witness as a parent. This is what Canned! is all about!

Currently in NC & SC, Canned! is hoping to come to NY soon!

Is your child between the ages of 8-15 years old and ready to start earning some money in your neighborhood? Are you a homeowner who would appreciate someone taking out your trash and recycle cans every week?

Canned! is a trash valet service created by Noah Empson, a rising 5th grader at Pinewood Elementary in Mount Holly, NC. Students roll customers' cans to the curb the day before pickup, and return them the following day for a monthly fee. It doesn't take long, and is an easy job to complete after school. Customers love the convenience of the service and the ability to support hard-working children. Parents love Canned! because it teaches children responsibilty & work ethic, while getting them back outside with no transportation needed! Kids love Canned! because they earn income and can save for something special!

Mission Statement: To teach children both responsibility and work ethic through the simple chore of taking out the trash! Canned! makes the lives of our neighbors just a little bit easier, while simultaneously motivating and rewarding the next generation. Self-discipline, determination, and hard work will prepare children for the work force, teaching them social responsibility. And being allowed to go outside after school is always a plus!
