Due to to low temperatures, Lake County will operate a cold-weather shelter at LifePointe Church located at 3551 E. Orange Avenue in Eustis Tuesday and Wednesday, Dec. 30 and 31. The shelter will open at 5 p.m. each night and close at 7 a.m. each morning.

Lake County Transit will provide free transportation via a fixed route LakeXpress, Lake County Connection, and a cold-weather shelter shuttle. For information on LakeXpress’s Fixed Route Bus Service, call (352)742-1940. For information on Lake County’s Connection Paratransit Service, call (352)742-2612.

Lake County County will determine how long the duration of the shelter days based on weather conditions. Lake County residents can receive updates on cold-weather resources by texting COLD to 888-777.

Today was about community 🤍

Neighbors helping neighbors, stories shared, and over 4,200 lbs of laundry washed along the way. We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who came through, waited patiently, shared space, and made today feel so meaningful.

We also want to say how thankful we are for our team, who showed up with care, compassion, and an eagerness to help all day long. This place wouldn’t feel the same without them!

So grateful to be part of a community like this! ❤️🫶
