Imagine getting a call that your husband was shot, while your 3 kids are asleep in the next room.

You freeze. Your heart drops. Your world shatters in a single second.

That is the exact, terrifying nightmare the Dean family is living through right now.

On Friday night, two brave heroes walked straight into an ambush. One of them, Deputy Logan Utt, tragically never made it home. While our community rightfully breaks for Deputy Utt, another hero has sadly been overlooked.

By the absolute grace of God, Officer Michael Dean is alive. Imagine being his sweet wife, holding him tight today, while your three kids play in the next room, and the only thing you can think of is how close those babies came to being fatherless.

While our community rightfully breaks for the devastating loss of Deputy Utt, we cannot let the surviving hero slide into the shadows.

We need to make so much noise that the entire country hears us. We need to rally a wall of support around this family so thick that they won’t have to worry about a single bill while they try to heal their minds and hearts.

Your $5 isn’t just money. It shows a terrified mother that you care. When you click that link, you aren't just paying a bill. You are wrapping your arms around three innocent babies whose daddy almost didn't come home. Officer Michael Dean took a bullet to keep your family safe. Please, don’t leave his family to drown in this darkness alone.

Deputy Utt Is Finally Safely Home. 💔

Today, we paused to welcome a true hero home. The flashing lights have turned off and the ceremonial es**rt is over, but the memory of Deputy Logan Utt will remain a permanent part of our community.

It was incredibly moving to see the overwhelming turnout along the route from Roanoke down to Mount Airy. Seeing neighbors from all walks of life stand shoulder-to-shoulder showed the true depth of respect this community has for those who put on the uniform.

Deputy Logan Utt answered his final call with the same courage that defined his years in the military and the fire service. He leaves behind a legacy of selflessness that will never be forgotten by his family, his friends, or the departments he served so faithfully.

Thank you to everyone who showed up today to honor his sacrifice and support his loved ones. Please keep his family and his brothers and sisters in blue and red in your thoughts.

Share this post to join us in honoring a dedicated public servant. 🕊️

Rest easy, Deputy. You’re finally home.

❤️💙 Today, A Hero Makes His Final Journey Home. 💙❤️

Today, Monday, June 1st, the body of Carroll County Sheriff’s Deputy Logan Utt will be brought home in a law enforcement funeral procession, leaving Roanoke, VA at 12:00 noon and traveling to Moody Funeral Service in Mount Airy, NC. Deputy Utt was killed in the line of duty on May 29 while answering a call to help someone in need, doing exactly what he promised to do when he put on that badge. He was a military veteran, a devoted husband and father, a former firefighter, a true friend, and a man who chased a lifelong dream of serving and protecting others, even at great risk to himself.

As his procession makes its way from Roanoke to Mount Airy, he will not travel this road alone. His brothers and sisters in law enforcement will surround him, blue lights shining, but this is the moment for our entire community to step forward too. If you are able, please consider lining the route with flags, thin blue line signs, or simply your hand over your heart as the motorcade passes. Bring your children, your coworkers, your neighbors, and let them see what it looks like when a community refuses to let a hero’s sacrifice go unnoticed. Even if you can’t be there in person, we ask you to pause at noon, wherever you are, to say a prayer or take a quiet moment for Deputy Utt’s wife, his children, his family, and his Carroll County Sheriff’s Office family as they walk through a pain most of us can only imagine.

Deputy Logan Utt gave everything he had for people he didn’t even know, both in uniform and in military service. Today, let’s show his family and every first responder who still answers the call that this community sees them, honors them, and stands behind them. 🖤💙🖤

🚨Calling All Law Enforcement: Please Let Us Wash Your Car For Free.🚨

Effective immediately, any active law enforcement officer can come by Bobbitt Auto Detailing for a free exterior hand wash. No catch, no fine print, no strings attached in any way at all. Just our way of saying thank you for what you’ve been through these past few days.

If you’ve been sitting in that seat for hours on end, running on coffee and no sleep, tied up in this manhunt after the Deputy Logan Utt incident, this is for you. Bring your badge or ID, pull in, and let us take care of your vehicle while you take a breath for a minute.

We’ve all seen the blue lights, heard the helicopters, and watched convoy after convoy of marked and unmarked cars moving through our backroads, and it’s impossible not to think about the human beings inside those cars. You’ve got families at home watching the same news, praying you walk back through the door when your shift finally ends. Our hearts are broken for Deputy Utt’s loved ones, his brothers and sisters in uniform, and for every officer who has had to push past their own fear to keep showing up.

We know a hand wash doesn’t even scratch the surface of what you deserve, but it’s something real that we can offer you right now to say we see you and that we’re grateful for you. To us, you’re not just a patrol car driving by. You’re our friends, our neighbors, the people who come when everything is falling apart, and we want you to know you’ve got a place where you’re always welcome.

❤️THE HUNT IS OVER. HE IS IN CUSTODY!💙

The collective sigh of relief stretching across Carroll County and Surry County tonight is heavy with tears, but the terror is finally over. He is off our streets. He is in handcuffs. Justice has begun.

While a sense of safety has been restored to our communities, our hearts remain completely shattered. Capturing the suspect doesn’t bring back Deputy Logan Utt. It doesn’t erase the nightmare his beautiful wife and sweet children are living through at this very moment. Logan was a hero. He was a military veteran, a former firefighter, and a dedicated protector who laid down his life on Fancy Gap Highway during a routine act of service. We owe his family a debt that can never be repaid.

We continue to lift up the second brave deputy who was injured in the line of duty. We pray fiercely for his continued physical recovery and the emotional healing he will face in the days, months, and years ahead.

An incredible, eternal thank you goes out to the hundreds of local, state, and federal law enforcement officers who have worked tirelessly, around the clock, putting their own safety on the line to bring this manhunt to a close. You ran toward the danger so we could sleep safely in our beds tonight. You deserve a bigger “Thank you!” Than we will ever be able to offer.

To the Utt family: We wrap you in our prayers, our love, and our community's tightest embrace. Bobbitt Auto Detailing stands with you now and forever. If you ever need anything, you will be our priority over everything else.

Rest easy, Deputy Logan Utt. The threat is gone.

In a single, heartbreaking moment this past Friday, a mother’s entire world has changed forever.

This is the reality for the wife of the officer who was tragically shot and killed. She is now navigating an unimaginable sudden loss, all while holding the hands of her small children who are trying to make sense of a future without their dad.

No mother should have to carry the weight of financial stress while navigating this kind of pain.

While nothing can undo this tragedy, a community's collective kindness can at least protect this family from the stress of the outside world. During a time of such profound shock, the absolute last thing she should have to worry about is a bill, a mortgage payment, or daily expenses.

The less she has to worry about money, the more she can focus entirely on her children.

By lifting the financial burden, we can give her the space to breathe and focus solely on her family's well-being. The goal is simply to surround her with stability right now, ensuring she knows that she and her children are surrounded by love and are not walking this difficult path alone.

Please consider easing the path forward for this family:

If you are able, please consider making a donation to help provide immediate stability for this mother and her kids. Every dollar goes directly toward giving them the breathing room they need right now. If you cannot give financially, please consider sharing this post to help widen this circle of support for her.

Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers. They can certainly use all they can get right now.

Help us support Logan's wife, KT, and their family as they navigate through this extremely difficult time. Anything is appreciated especially your prayers.

Our hearts are utterly shattered today as we mourn the devastating loss of one of Carroll County’s finest heroes. Behind the badge and the uniform was a man who fought battles most people will never truly understand. He overcame immense, hidden obstacles in his life, proving his resilience long before he ever swore an oath to protect us. He first answered the call to duty by serving in the military, bravely defending our nation on the global stage. When he returned home, his mission to serve never wavered. He put on the uniform of the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office, risking his life every single shift to keep our streets safe and our families secure. He gave everything to this community, and now, he has made the ultimate sacrifice. But the most agonizing part of this tragedy is the beautiful family he leaves behind. He was a devoted husband to his loving wife and an adoring father to his small, precious children. It breaks our hearts to pieces knowing that these innocent little kids will now have to grow up without their daddy there to hold them, guide them, and watch them grow. Please keep his grieving wife, his babies, his family, his friends, and our entire law enforcement community in your prayers during these darkest of days. We will never forget your service, your sacrifice, or the profound obstacles you overcame to protect us all. Rest easy, deputy. You didn’t deserve this.
