Check out this awesome Modern Flames Redstone electric fireplace we installed in Tremont! This customer had a zero-clearance prefabricated fireplace that the chimney had ripped off of. She didn’t want to replace it with a wood or gas fireplace, so she went with one of our electrics. More storm damage inspections today in Morton, IL. This customer's chase cover had come unscrewed in the recent storms, leaving their chimney chase fully exposed. We were able to get up there and got it set back in place and reconnected for the time being. Measurements were taken for a new stainless steel chase cover, and a recommendation for a level three inspections to ensure no further damage is done lower in the chase. We have been dealing with a ton of lifted chase covers, missing chimney caps, and even leaning chimney pipes. Take a second and look up at your chimney. Does anything look off? If so, give us a call!

Now is the time to get your fireplace and chimney cleaned! Don’t wait till that first cold snap to get it done. We have roughly two months before busy season takes off and we go from a week or two out to a month or two. Here's a picture of a sweep we did today. This customer burns regularly throughout the winter. The black powder is creosote. It sits silently in your chimney just waiting for the right spark to cause a chimney fire. Another major project wrapped up today! This one was removing an old, outdated, and unsafe prefabricated fireplace and chimney system and installing a new high-efficient wood fireplace.

This job started off by throwing us a curveball. What we thought was a fake log turned out to be a true log cabin. 8-inch round logs made up the walls of this house. These took a great deal of time to cut out to reach the proper clearance required by the manufacturer.

Once out, a new Fireplace Xtrordinair 42 Apex NexGen-Hybrid was installed. This unit features the metropolitan face. The old rusted chase cover was also replaced with a shiny new stainless steel one.

This project was a collaboration of several companies, and it turned out great. Force Masonry Construction removed the stone and put it back when we finished the install. And Pipco made the new chase cover. This family will have years of safe heating moving forward.

Here’s another big beautiful crown and a gas insert we installed for a customer last week. Again, the heat was brutal and slowed us down quite a bit. However, the crew locked in and once again knocked out another beautiful project.

We started by removing the limestone topper, deteriorated brick pillars, and chimney crown. We then installed flue extensions and installed another beautiful limestone crown.

We ended this job by putting in a stunning Fireplace Xtrodinair gas insert with the Wilmington Face, handmade brick firebacks, and an oak log set. This fireplace got a major facelift and many years of high efficient heat production.

The crew absolutely knocked this new chimney crown out of the park last week in the heat! Things moved a lot slower than we had hoped with how hot it was. However, we locked in and got this monster of a new limestone crown installed. Unfortunately, I did not get any before pictures, but with finished products like this, who needs to see what they looked like before?

This started as a simple rip and replace of a prefabricated fireplace and chimney system. The customer was upgrading to a much more efficient direct vent gas fireplace. Remodel it opened up the interior and we removed the old fireplace. When we remove it we found the decay and quickly called Remodel It back in to handle it. This quick rip and replace turned into a big remodel! Stay tuned to see how this one turns out! Always a good one when we get to team up with our favorite carpenters!
