Weatherproof doesn’t always mean chemical-proof. Sodium hypocrite is more conductive than salt water. I was an electrician before I got into power washing. Breakers don’t always trip, and a slow burn, chemical induced type of short circuit can be disastrous. You can’t put the fire out with water either. Better safe than sorry.
