Here is a cleaning poem
It’s just cleaning.
No, not really.
* It’s knowing which products and tools to use on each surface, and under each condition, to return it to like-new condition, efficiently, effectively, and without damage.
* It’s seeing and addressing the things the typical person does not: return air vents, baseboards, switch plates, door moldings, edges where the carpet meets the wall, built up kitchen grease on cabinets, or over the range.
* It’s hard physical labor, frequently leading to injury.
* It’s humbling to be face to face with someone else's toilet seat in order to clean the base and baseboards behind.
* It’s the drive time, gas, and car maintenance in order to get to the job.
* It's the discipline to commit to job excellence, punctuality, and honoring budgets.
* It’s inner personal skills to communicate when something doesn’t go as planned.
* It’s passion to show up with a smile on your face.
* It’s the ability to eliminate the stress of the homeowner; to help them feel in control of their space, remove conflicts of “whose responsibility is XYZ”.
* It’s multiplying a client’s time, so they are able to do what matters more to them.
* It’s providing this service, over and over again, to build up a reputation of dependability and quality.
* It’s commitment to doing business legitimately.
* It’s Quickbooks, taxes, insurance, payroll, unemployment insurance, scheduling, hiring, firing, training, marketing, sales, estimating, customer service, refining of processes, P&L statements, bank account reconciling.
* It’s therapy sessions to cope with “How do I inspire employees to stay, so I can keep my commitments to my clients, so I serve more people and grow, so I can earn a living and be able to work on my business instead of in my business. So I have a compassionate response to “it’s just cleaning
