Biology of Little Brown Bat: Appearance, biology, diet, behavior
The little brown bat is found across almost all over the United States, especially around swamplands, with the exception of Florida, Texas, and heading into Mexico (though the habitat is certainly perfect for them). This is the most common species of bat across the entire North America, including Canada, and although they are a very small bat (up to 4 inches in length, half an ounce in weight), they’re a prolific pest. Nocturnal and fast, they eat insects, especially mosquitos, moths, and wasps, eating almost half of what they weigh in bugs each night.
