At the beginning of October, a new client approached me in a neighborhood I work in. He had laid all the base for a fire pit area but ended up hurting his elbows in the process and asked if I could help finish it.

I told him as long as he was good with me working on it here and there throughout the month, we could knock it out by the hour.

Here are a few before and after pictures from where he left off to the finished product. Pretty happy with how this one turned out!

I’m really happy with how these pavers have held up. We cleaned, re-sanded, and sealed them back in July, and they still look new.

We don’t use the standard polymeric sand that washes out after a few years. This stuff is made to last.

In the last photo, you can see the clear sealer on the driveway is still holding up and beading water!

Getting grass to grow is one thing. Keeping it healthy and thriving is another. We can fertilize, lime, and aerate all we want, but if the soil isn’t right, we’re missing a big piece of the puzzle.

Here’s a recent soil report I put together for the fields at SMLCA. The soil report includes a one year step-by-step plan on how to achieve the best results. If you want an amazing yard, it helps to zoom out and look at the whole picture.

Knocking out over 1 acre of aeration and overseeding today. A couple more weeks of seeding and then we will be heading into leaf season!

Out in Lynchburg today and I’ll be rolling all weekend with the top-of-the-line Stinger GT30 — pulling cores and putting down high-quality seed just in time for all this rain we’ve got coming!
