I then a year later, with much trepidation, took a step of faith and leaped forward! I became "Self Employed"! Owning & operating a Swimming Pool & Hot Tub Maintenance Service Company, had its challenges, but was so rewarding in many ways. And for 7 years we did well and I grew the company and gleaned much knowledge and became more experienced in my field, as I dove into any & all technical semina
rs, industry workshops and attended any Pool & Spa Expo Show I could to hone my skills and to become one day, an Expert in the Swimming Pool & Spa Industry. Now Fast Forwarding from 1984 to 2021, I own & operate The Pool & Spa Medic. I am still in this industry that has taken good care of me & my family! And has allowed my 3 wonderful children to experience and work in this business. My Eldest, my beautiful daughter is still in it & running her own maintenance company and is introducing her littles into it. My middle son after working with me since knee high and then 6+ years or so managing route, is now operating and (I believe ?) managing at FedEx Ground. And my youngest, our baby is working as a partner with his father (me), running & managing the maintenance portion of our company. The Pool & Spa Medic is a company that is authorized as "Service Centers" for many of the top name manufacturers of the Pool & Spa Industry. We strive to do our best to “Fix” our customers equipment problems, not just work on them! And our rates for both Maintenance & Repair are very competitive and reasonable. As far as a Retail Store goes, we have that as well. We opened up shop in Molalla, OR in 2003 Wow, was that a Roller Coaster time in our lives for about a year and a half. My daughter was getting married, my father was ill than passed, my mother got ill, then she passed, and then sadly, my brother got ill, and he too went to be with our Lord. I miss them all so very much! And all of the above, I was stepping in faith to continue with opening a retail store: The Pool & Sp'aah Health Center. Now here we are in the final months of 2021 - what a ride for the last 18 months! And our Pool & Spa Store has seen change. We incorporated a Re-Sale Shop or as some call it, a Thrift Store as part of our business. We consolidated all of our Pool & Spa supplies/inventory into 1 corner of our showroom and the rest of the showroom is where our customers hunt & find treasures. We call the thrift store portion of our business - It's a Treasure Hunt. And it has its own FB Page. So much change, so many events, many crises, so many challenges, so many thoughts of “Can we continue?” and yet we are still here and by faith moving forward. Keeping our doors open, and still here to serve our customers! So there you have the long & short of the story of The Pool & Spa Medic
