GUTTER GUARDS SHOULDN’T DO THIS.

Because gutters are above eye level, most homeowners never see what is happening underneath their gutter guards. Many reasonably assume that once guards are installed, the system no longer requires attention—but not all gutter guards perform the same.

Flat guards can collect leaves and debris, allowing rainwater to flow across the buildup and bypass the gutter entirely. Larger openings can also allow shingle grit and broken-down organic material to enter the gutter and clog the downspouts.

When wet debris and grit remain trapped inside, they retain moisture and accelerate corrosion—greatly reducing the gutter system’s service life. The added weight and uncontrolled overflow can pull gutters away from the home and contribute to costly damage to the fascia, soffits, roof edge, siding, and foundation. An overloaded or failing gutter system can also become a serious safety hazard.

We don’t simply cover up the problem. We:

✅ Thoroughly clean the gutters
✅ Clear the downspouts
✅ Remove failed sealant
✅ Prep and reseal leak-prone joints
✅ Install premium stainless-steel micromesh gutter protection

The result is dependable protection that virtually eliminates routine gutter maintenance—backed by a 40-year warranty and 100% clog-free guarantee.

Locally owned. Owner installed. No high-pressure sales tactics.

This project was about more than curb appeal — it was about controlling water the right way.

This new construction home sits on a continuous downhill slope, where runoff naturally moves from one property toward the next. Water was also being trapped near the front foundation area, so simply adding gutters wasn’t enough.

We designed the system around the site:

• Larger-capacity downspouts to handle the volume
• Strategic discharge locations
• No unnecessary discharge at the front foundation
• Runoff directed toward better drainage at the rear of the property
• Reduced impact on the neighboring property downhill
• Seamless gutters fabricated on site for a custom fit

The finished system looks clean, but more importantly, it was designed to manage water intentionally.

Another new home protected with a properly installed 6” seamless gutter system.

On a gutter installation, the details matter — proper pitch, secure attachment, downspout placement, and correctly sealed corners all play a part in how the system performs when the Gulf Coast rain starts coming down.

This project received a continuous seamless system designed to move water away from the home while keeping the finished installation clean and unobtrusive.

If you’re building a new home or your current gutters aren’t doing their job, give Five Star Exterior Services a call.
