Day 2 - Exterior Detailing
Donât you just love when birds are attracted to your ride? They just love leaving you little acidic packages to let you know they were there.
A thorough wash with a strong shampoo was needed here. Not just to remove bird presents, but to also remove any waxes or sealants that may have been applied previously. This way we can apply our ceramic coating tomorrow without any issues.
Next, we chemically decontaminate it. Plug your nose because that smell is horrendous. (I need the detailing chemists to fix this issue ASAP!!! đ) But it removes all the iron deposits, like brake dust, from the vehicle. No, you cannot see them, but they are there slowly eating away at your carâs paint.
Now for the claying stage, to remove little particles embedded into the paint. I use a clay towel since it lasts substantially longer than an actual bar. Then a quick rinse with deionized water, meaning no minerals. Just pure H(2)O, to prevent water spotting.
Time to get to those scratches you donât realize youâre seeing. After 3 hours of polishing and 3 different levels of polishing pads, I think weâre ready for the coating. Unfortunately, we were not able to remove everything. Bird droppings, dirt, little rocks, etc caused some paint damage that isnât fixable with detailing. A little bummed to realize how bad the paint is, but the coating can still help show off this vehicleâs âdiamond detailsâ. But for now, letâs enjoy the results of this exterior detail!!!
