Been a hot one this week! But hasn’t stopped us from providing sweeps to the area!
Yesterday we got to sweep and service this coal chimney for the winner of our free sweep drawing in Pottsville. The customer wasn’t sure when it was cleaned last since she recently bought the home.. unfortunately the chimney doesn’t have a liner and is a very narrow chimney, which would make it hard to install a liner. Upon inspection, we found the chimney to be blocked in some areas! John and Owen worked efficient from the hot roof, and were able to open the chimney up and is dirt free for the first time in what we think is several years! Combat chimney will be back to this chimney annually to inspect and sweep and keep an eye on any issues due to no liner!! On this day Combat Chimney remembers the heroes who, on this day 80 years ago, fought and sacrificed for our country the bloody beaches of Normandy, along with countless other men who willingly parachuted through bullets and bombs at the same time! We respect all who died and all who lost their brothers on that day and lived to relive their personal nightmares to this day! They were the greatest generation!

Saturday Owen and John traveled to Northern Lebanon to do service on a wood stove chimney along with an oil furnace chimney that hasn’t been swept for close to 40 years! With another great rooftop view, we were able to sweep all the creosote off the stainless liner that the wood stove was connected to and the oil chimney after a good solid cleaning looks like new! This customer was very pleased and feels comfortable knowing they are all ready for fall!

We know we haven’t been as active on here as we normally are, but it comes with good reason! The Combat Chimney youngsters have been hard at work at their individual sports and we believe family always comes first! So we took the opportunity of a slower cleaning season to be present for their games and track meets! Huge congrats go to Kaylee on a great varsity softball season, Payton on a great first year of track, Owen on a great first year of baseball after missing two seasons, and Sebastian on growing into a great baseball player!
As their seasons come to a close, our Chimney Sweep busy season has begun! Schedule an appointment with us to prepare for the next heating season. It will be here before we know it!
