Restaurant kitchen tile floor cleaning requires making sure every inch of the floor gets cleaned. At least that’s how we roll. Very important to make sure places that we eat have very clean kitchen floors. Island Cafe in Portland got their floor service done last night by us. They’ve been a customer of ours for over 10 years. They religiously make sure their floors are clean. What a cool spot to go hang out on a floating restaurant’s deck and enjoy the waters this time of year.

Two nights to get this veterinary clinic back up to looking good. This was an old client of mine 10 years ago. They complained I raised prices $5 a visit and cancelled service. Fast forward 10 years and the floor was trashed by whomever they used. The cost to get it back to new again was more due to the cheap service provider they used not cleaning any edges, skipping rooms and never fully stripping the floors. Sad we have to deal with poor quality service providers.
Thankfully the vet clinic changed hands and the manager knew me from one of the other 65 veterinary offices we service. They knew the value we bring to them wouldn’t compare.

We have already been able to do maintenance work in Washington under our Washington license as an Oregon business. We also do concrete coatings and polishing under our Oregon CCB license number 238777. We have gotten many request to work in Vancouver, but we abide by the laws. We won’t work up there…… until today. We are now licensed with the state of Washington with a CCB number CONCRPS768K8 for Concrete Protective Solutions. We already have two jobs lining up in the next month and I look forward to serving the greater Vancouver Washington area.

To round off a 95 hour work week, how about a psychedelic purple and green stained concrete refresh. I stripped off the traditional floor wax and sealed it with Ameripolish SR2. Someone spent a bit of money 10 years ago to install this floor, then this liquor store changed hands and hired someone to wax the floor over and over. Now it changed hands again and the new owner wanted the original look. Night Owl Floor Services, Inc to the rescue.

Know your value and worth!

Customer asked for a quote. After providing it he then proceeded to tell me a competitor charged $83.00 less than I quoted, it took 4 hours for 2 techs to do it. I told him that seems like a lot of labor for a small postal location. I know my work and I am well worth it. They then told me it was 1.5 years ago. I suggested they call that company for an updated quote. He then said he will and most likely will call them to do the floors if I won’t match.

30 minutes later he calls back and said I was right. They raised their prices comparable to mine. As I find it this job tonight, in sub 4 hours by myself, I find that sticking to my guns and prices is always a good practice. Sure bend a few bucks if you feel, but maybe not. Not only done in 3.5 hours, he got 5 coats of finish instead of their 4 coats that they quoted, and I moved out all his displays and did the same treatment under them, unlike the $83 cost saving, or it now is $22 with their new rates. Better value with a better product.

Moral of the story…….. not all services are the same. Know your worth. If you bring it, make sure you get paid for the value you bring to the customer.
