The client knew early on that he wanted to protect the vehicle, started researching ceramic coating companies in Midland/Odessa, came across our Google reviews, and decided 2LC was the company to call.

With such low mileage, the goal was simple: properly prep the paint and protect it before West Texas driving had more time to introduce contamination, bugs, road film, and other buildup.

After a full wash and decontamination process, we moved the Tesla into the client’s garage and installed our 5-year ceramic coating.

Ceramic coating creates a slick, hydrophobic layer over the clear coat that helps contamination release easier during future washes while adding gloss and making regular maintenance much simpler.

2LC Signature Package | Two-Step Paint Correction | Black Cadillac

Midland/Odessa, here’s why this paint correction takes two steps.

Step 1: Cutting.
The rotary polisher, wool pad, and compound work through heavier swirls and scratches. This step does the heavy work, but it can leave fine marks and haze behind.

Step 2: Polishing.
We switch to a foam pad and finer polish to clean up those marks and bring out a clearer, deeper reflection.

Stopping after the first step can leave paint looking shiny in the garage but full of marks in direct sunlight. The second step is what refines that finish.

The goal is to remove defects safely. Some scratches are too deep to chase without taking off too much clear coat.

“Ceramic coated” can mean different things. Here’s what matters before you pay.

A ceramic spray adds shine, water beading, and a layer of protection. It usually needs to be applied more often than a durable ceramic coating.

A professionally installed ceramic coating involves cleaning and preparing the paint, applying the coating evenly, and allowing it to cure. Depending on the product and care, protection can last years.

“Serum” can be part of a product’s name. The word alone does not prove quality or lifespan.

Dealerships can install real ceramic coatings, too. But if the package uses a spray sealant, that isn’t the same service as a properly installed, multi-year coating.

The difference is the product, the prep, and the work behind it.

Before paying, ask:
• What exact product are you applying?
• How do you prepare the paint?
• How long should it last?
• What care does it need?
• What does the warranty cover?

Only 400 miles on this Tesla, now protected at the client’s house here in Midland/Odessa.

The paint already looked great. Minor flaws under a paint inspection light weren’t a concern for this owner, so we skipped paint correction and installed a five-year ceramic coating on the paint only.

He told us the dealership had already ceramic coated this car and his other three vehicles. During our checks, we couldn’t confirm the coating protection he expected. We coated the Tesla and are returning this weekend to take care of the other three.

Dealership coatings can be real ceramic coatings. The difference comes down to the product, proper prep, and how it’s applied. “Ceramic coated” alone doesn’t tell you what was used or what protection you paid for.

John is an oilfield consultant, so his truck spends a lot of time around oilfield facilities. After recently noticing overspray bonded to the paint, he started researching ceramic coating companies here in Midland/Odessa.

This F-250 came to us for an $850 one-step paint correction.

The goal with a one-step isn’t to chase every single scratch until the paint is perfect. It’s to make a major visual improvement while keeping the price reasonable.

We polish the clear coat to reduce swirls, lighter scratches, oxidation, and other defects that take away from the paint’s clarity. The biggest difference you usually notice is the gloss. The color looks deeper, reflections become clearer, and the entire truck looks cleaner.

For $850, this truck got exactly what it needed without taking the correction further than necessary.

Sometimes you don’t need perfect paint. You just need the right amount of correction to completely change how the truck looks.

This 2022 Cadillac Escalade came to us for our Signature Gold Package after never being professionally detailed.

Our Gold Package is a full inside-and-out reset. The interior received steam cleaning, shampooing, and dry extraction methods to work through years of built-up dirt and contamination. We also detailed the engine bay and completed a full exterior wash and clay bar treatment.

As soon as we started claying the paint, we could feel how much contamination had bonded into the clear coat. The clay became abrasive quickly as it pulled years of embedded buildup from the surface, showing us that the paint needed more than a detail to get the finish where it could be.

After seeing the condition of the paint, the client decided to take it a step further. The Escalade is coming back this weekend for a one-step paint correction and 5-year ceramic coating to reduce the defects, bring back the depth and clarity in the black paint, and protect the finish moving forward.

Two days of work went into getting this Tundra back to this finish.

Danny came to us after finding overspray all over his truck. Because of how heavily it had bonded to the paint, this wasn’t something a clay bar or light polish was going to fix. We had to move into a full two-step paint correction.

The first stage used a heavy compound and wool pad to carefully cut through the overspray and correct the affected clear coat. We then followed with a second polishing stage to refine the paint, remove the haze from the aggressive cut, and bring back the clarity and gloss.

Once finished, we protected the paint with our 5-year ceramic coating, with the wheels and windows ceramic coated as well.

Danny left us a five-star review saying, “My truck hasn’t looked this good since the day I bought it!”

2LC Paint Correction | Polish vs. One-Step vs. Two-Step | See the Difference

What are you actually paying for when you choose a polish, one-step, or two-step paint correction?

For this video, we divided the back fender into three sections with masking tape. One section received a polish only, one received a one-step paint correction, and the last received a two-step paint correction. The paint underneath the tape stays untouched, giving us the original finish to compare against once the tape comes off.

A polish is mainly about enhancement. It cleans up light haze and brings back gloss and clarity, but it isn’t designed for heavy defect removal.

A one-step correction gives us more cutting ability while still finishing the paint in one stage. This allows us to reduce more swirl marks, light scratches, and oxidation while bringing back a much cleaner finish.

A two-step correction goes further. We first use an aggressive cutting stage to remove heavier defects, then follow with a separate polishing stage to refine the paint and bring back the clarity and gloss.

Once the tape comes off, you can see all three levels directly next to the original untouched paint.

Instead of just telling you what each service does, we wanted to show you exactly what you’re buying.
