At Silcox Southern Acres, we do our best to make things easier, more affordable on our family and the environment. So we make our own powdered laundry detergent! Our laundry detergent lasts about six months to a year, depending on our loads. No more detergents that last “128 washes”, which seemed like we were buying laundry detergent for our family at least every other week. We are no longer wasting those large plastic containers. Our powdered detergent does not leave any powdered residue on the laundry like the powdered detergents you buy in the store. It has taking awhile for me to master a perfect homemade laundry detergent but I did it! This detergent makes our clothes feel so clean and fresh. You don’t need to use much, I use the blue measuring cup that comes in the oxi-clean container and mark it with a permanent marker at the 1/4 mark for regular- heavy loads and a little less than 1/2 for super heavy loads. We also use vinegar in our laundry for our towel and bed sheets. Using vinegar periodically also cleans your washer.

It’s that time of year again where we have way more eggs than we can eat!! We have farm fresh eggs available. Let us know how many cartons you’d like and we can arrange it. Also, we know some don’t care for the multi colored variety and that’s ok, we can provide all tan eggs for you, so please let us know in advance. ☺️🐣🐓
