25 Years Later, We Remember. 🇺🇸
Twenty-five years ago today, our country experienced a tragedy that changed us forever.
On the morning of September 11, 2001, thousands of people left their homes, kissed their families goodbye, headed to work, boarded airplanes, and began what they believed would be an ordinary Tuesday.
2,977 innocent lives would never make it home.
Mothers. Fathers. Sons. Daughters. Husbands. Wives. Friends. Coworkers.
And among them were the first responders who ran toward unimaginable danger while everyone else was trying to escape it. Firefighters, police officers, paramedics, and countless ordinary people showed extraordinary courage in the darkest of moments.
Twenty-five years have passed, but September 11th does not feel like distant history.
We still remember the images.
We still remember the silence.
We still remember the fear and heartbreak.
And we still remember how an entire nation came together in the days that followed.
For the families who lost someone that morning, there is no anniversary that can measure the depth of that loss. And for the survivors, first responders, recovery workers, and communities forever changed by that day, the weight of September 11th continues long after the rest of the world moved forward.
Today, TACT MIAMI pauses to remember every life taken too soon, every family that never got one more goodbye, and every hero who answered the call without knowing whether they would return home.
May we continue to say their names.
May we continue to tell their stories.
May we continue to honor their courage.
And no matter how many years pass…
