What are some things that may cause scorpions to be more active in your yard and home?
1- Having a delicious food source. Scorpions love crickets. Getting routine pest control to curb the populations of their food source is a good start!
2- Are you or your neighbors doing landscaping or construction? Vibrations and new rock/plants can bring in scorpions and cause the ones already there to move around. River rock is a place that scorpions love to hide.
3- Citrus trees and unskinned palm trees can attract them! Unskinned palm trees are a favorite hiding spot of scorpions.
4- Stacks of wood for those wonderful winter fires? Scorpions like to hide in those too. They are usually moist and dark areas.

Looking to escape the heat this summer? Don't bring back more than just souvenirs while traveling. Here are some tips to help minimize your risk of bed bugs coming home with you!
1 - Get hard luggage or seal all clothes in resealable plastic bags/vacuum sealed bags.
2 - Avoid cloth covered seats (if possible) at the airport. All plastic seats have less places for them to hide!
3 - Inspect your hotel room before unpacking your bags. Check the seams of chairs and the mattress (under the sheets) for red spots and bed bugs.
4 - Upon returning home, put all clothes (including the ones worn in the airport/plane) in the wash on hot and dry on hot. Heat helps kill them!
If you suspect you have brought bed bugs home, make sure to address it immediately. The infestation will get worse with time and be harder and more costly to treat! Give us a call to schedule an inspection! 480-687-8247
