We just had one of our team members turn around while driving from Wichita to Kansas City to wait this storm out.

This is the type of damage we’re seeing across the area today from the hailstorm.

The hail left deep dents in metal roof components (vents and flashing), which is one of the easiest indicators of storm impact. We're also seeing fractures and bruising to shingles, which breaks down the protective surface of the roof.

Our team has been out helping homeowners today by inspecting properties, documenting damage with photos, and assisting with insurance claims.

A storm just passed with hail and tornado warnings, and another is headed through now. Our team will be out in the KC metro area tomorrow inspecting properties, placing tarps where needed, and taking photos of any damage for insurance purposes to make things easier for homeowners. Stay safe, and take precautions as more severe weather moves in tonight.

Late last night, a confirmed EF-0 tornado passed right over our office at 51st & Antioch. Peak winds were around 75 mph, and most reported damage was to trees.

Overnight tornadoes like this can be tricky since they’re hard to see. We’ll be heading to the office soon to check for any fallen branches, debris, or visible storm damage around the property.

Last night’s storms moved through the KC metro with strong winds, hail, and a tornado watch. Here’s what preliminary reports are showing so far:

• Wind: Gusts around 60–70 mph in parts of the metro
• Hail: Most reports pea to penny size, though some areas may have seen hail up to around 2 inches
• Tornadoes: Some areas received tornado warnings due to strong rotation, but no confirmed tornado damage in the KC metro so far

Storm damage isn’t always obvious right away, but sometimes it can be seen from the ground. Homeowners may notice things like:

• Shingles in the yard or driveway
• Granules collecting near downspouts
• Dented gutters or vents
• Loose or lifted shingles visible from the ground

If you notice any of these signs, it’s best to have a professional inspection rather than climbing on the roof yourself.

Many roofing companies offer free inspections, and they can safely check areas that aren’t visible from the ground.
