A clean we did yesterday.... we've maintained it, done a clean once a season for these owners as they had it on the market. Please note, it has been months since we had been. They finally sold, closed and new owners take possession Monday.... this is a 6 bedroom, 4.5 bathroom, 5700 sq foot home that needed a move out clean...so things had been moved around that sat in the same place for years... guess how long this took!!!! Every item wiped off, everything moved and wiped under, beds cleaned under, under sinks, inside fridge, not quite a deep clean, but a thorough clean.....and just like that..... ready for new owners. Just throwing this out there....ive heard the last two people claim this after ive interviewed them for hire and informed them of pay. They say, well I know cleaners make more than 20/25 an hour up there. Yes, COMPANIES do CHARGE more than that. . But...im also covering everything thats needed to run that business. Once ive paid everyone and supplied everything for the following week, leaves me alot less than my workers.... hence why sooooo many think oh, I clean my own house, I can do this and get paid for it. First red flag. But this article explains it perfectly..

Unpopular opinion… but it needs to be said.

Every few months someone complains that cleaning companies charge $50+ per hour, while they personally make $20–$30/hour at their job.

Recently someone even called me a Karen for explaining it. Apparently we’re just “charging $50 to clean a toilet.” 🙃

Let’s clear something up.

A service rate is not the same thing as someone’s hourly wage.

When a cleaning company charges $50/hour, that money covers things like:

• employee wages
• payroll taxes
• insurance and liability
• gas and travel time
• supplies and equipment
• scheduling software
• advertising and marketing
• training and quality control
• cancellations and slow weeks

After all that, the business owner isn’t pocketing $50/hour.

In fact, many cleaners are making $20–$25/hour, which is very similar to many other industries.

And here’s the bigger point:

If cleaning was truly “easy money,” more people would start cleaning companies and stay in the industry long term.

But most people who try it quickly realize it’s physically demanding, detail-oriented, and requires serious consistency.

Also… every profession deserves respect.

Nurses, cleaners, tradespeople, business owners we all play a role in keeping society running.

Comparing someone’s personal wage to a business service rate simply shows a misunderstanding of how businesses actually operate.

I currently have immediate openings through the end of September needing to be filled for anything from a basic clean to a deep clean/ post renovation, or move in/move out clean...... Unfortunately, I ONLY have availability for this period. December through April is fully booked! I'm fully insured, tons of 5 star referrals, and thousands of references available. I've been serving the community for 6 independently, and for about 10 years with others....I supply all my own supplies so nothing is needed from your end! Have a regular cleaning company already, but they just don't deliver the sparkle and shine that you would like? Call us for a one time, or bi-monthly deep cleanings... Just purchased a second home or full time home in the area? Call us and book your move in clean, and regular, year round cleanings! I currently have immediate openings (which is super rare for me) for any and all type of cleaning projects! UNFORTUNATELY OUTSIDE WINDOW CLEANING IS NOT AVAILABLE!! I've served the killington area for 6 years as a business owner, and for 5 years prior to that in this area. I have almost 20 years of professional cleaning experience. I ONLY deliver 5 star ratings when it comes to cleanliness. Every single last of my 22 short term rentals have reached superhost status and maintained it since being on my clientele list.
