Starting a pest control business as a female was never something I thought I'd do. But after hating bugs and critters of all shapes and sizes (spiders, mosquitos, you name it!), I decided to take the plunge into bringing pest-free days to the homes in my community. The pest control industry might be male-dominant, but why let that stop me from taking good care of people and their pest problems?

I was talking with one of my very first customers today, and it made me laugh thinking back to Year 1 of Burke Pest Away. My original goal was just to hit 50 accounts. Honestly, I started this business thinking it would just be extra “hunting fund” money while I worked my full-time job. Like most people, I just needed a little extra income.

Now here we are entering spring season 5. Looking back at how far this business has come is honestly emotional for me. What started as a small side hustle has grown into something I’m incredibly proud of, and none of it would have been possible without all of you.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you. Your referrals, reviews, repeat business, and word of mouth have completely built this company. I truly have the best customers.

According to the groundhog, we could have about 6 more weeks of winter, which means pests are still looking for warm places to hide. Rodents, spiders, and overwintering insects are currently settled in and, as temperatures start to fluctuate, they’ll begin becoming more active and looking for food and water inside your home or business.

Heading into early spring is when we start seeing:
