Happy Friday!

Next up in our Employee Spotlight Series is our valued team member, Jeremy Jones.

Jeremy has been with W&T for 2.5 years and has quite the resume', both personally and professionally! As a Project Manager, Jeremy ensures that his crews have their assignments, confirms that they have all of the materials to complete the project, gathers data from the project to pass on to our Data Lead, makes sure the job is completed on time, and double-checks to make sure everything is in order at the shop.

What he likes most about working for W&T is the people. He loves getting up and coming to work each day because of our employees and Co-Owners, Wiley and Terrell Richards. He points out that sometimes we spend more time with the people we work with than our families, so it is important to him that he has great people surrounding him.

Some of the biggest challenges he faces are receiving emergency phone calls and dealing with hard deadlines.

At work, he stays motivated by staying busy. A body in motion stays in motion!

In terms of success, he's most proud of learning how to be more hands-on, which he credits to working with some of our more seasoned employees.

He also shares that he is most inspired by Wiley and Terrell. He works closely with Wiley and looks up to him in many aspects.

Jeremy feels that he has grown in his role by learning how to communicate professionally. He also shares that he has learned the importance of integrity.

One secret talent he has is being great at sports!

Outside of work, he enjoys going to the gym, playing basketball and coaching his children's little league team!

On a more personal note, his daughter was diagnosed with Craniopharyngioma, a rare, benign and slow-growing tumor that can affect parts of your or your child’s endocrine system. Between going to St. Jude and coaching little league, he stays very busy.

As a father and the man of the house, he says it is important to keep going! He finds it easier to be happy than to be mad.

Jeremy, you are an inspiration to us!

Happy Tuesday! We hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving week!

We are so thankful for our hardworking team at Ford Blue Oval City. To show our appreciation, we hosted a luncheon to celebrate their diligence, dedication and determination in completing the highest quality of work.

Happy Wednesday!

Welcome to our Employee Spotlight Series, where we will be introducing you to valued team members who make our company GREAT! This is a perfect week to begin our series because we are so thankful for our employees!

First up, we would like to introduce you to Neko Gates!

Neko has been with W&T since January of 2023, and is already making a name for himself! As our Data Lead, Neko organizes, visualizes, and analyzes different layers of data by creating maps and scenes. With the ability to clearly visualize different types of data, users are enabled to uncover patterns, understand trends, monitor changes, and respond to events—facilitating better decision making.

What he likes most about working for W&T is that everyone instills confidence in his work and decision-making skills. He feels that he can work independently and collaborate with team members when needed. He says his biggest challenge is making sure that his work is 100% accurate.

At work, he stays motivated by setting a firm deadline for himself and managing his time wisely.

He also shares that Wiley and Terrell Richards are two of his biggest inspirations within the company. As a minority-owned business, he says that it's cool to work for owners who look like him. He's also proud of how they are recognized for the positive work they do.

Neko feels that he has grown professionally with W&T because he is trusted to work independently and solve problems as they arise.

Outside of work, he enjoys reading, swimming, playing soccer and cooking at home.

Recently, we attended the 2023 Construction Opportunities Conference in Nashville, TN. We were honored to participate as panelists.

The Construction Opportunities Conference, organized by Nashville Music City Center, Nashville Business Incubation Center, and Tennessee APEX Accelerator (PTAC), provides a platform for small construction and engineering firms to connect with prime contractors and government agencies.

National STEM/STEAM Day is celebrated every year on November 8 to encourage kids to explore their interests in science, technology, engineering, arts and math careers. And nationwide efforts are underway to attract and train young workers through registered apprenticeship programs.
