Do skunks fight each other?
Skunks, particularly males, are quite defensive over their territories during the summer. During the winter, they are much more inclined to share it with both male and female counterparts, but during the summer when life is good for the animal, male skunks will defend territory almost to the death. Skunks don’t use their spray ability on each other, which scientists can’t quite explain, but they do use sharp teeth and claws to exert dominance, establish territory boundaries, and also, when it comes to mating seasons, male skunks will fight each other for mating rights over the best females.
