This is a very real scene at a local McHenry residence. While people think, “this could never happen to me,” experienced Firefighters will tell you otherwise. Please consider the following:
1. Do I know how to use a Fire Extinguisher?
2. Will I remember where it is in a panic?
3. When is the last time I checked my Extinguisher to ensure it will function?
4. How many seconds does a small kitchen extinguisher work?
5. Should I consider a larger 5LB Extinguisher?
6. Do all extinguishers work on all fires?
7. Who can show me how to use an Extinguisher?

If you would like help or answers to any of these questions, please give us a call.

A firefighter suffered minor injuries during an extra-alarm fire that left a home "a complete loss" Saturday morning near McHenry, fire officials said.

A little history on Glass Fire Grenades, now considered beautiful collectibles from $25-$2000…With various shapes, colors, & origins (France, Germany, & Chicago), many found at yard sales & live auctions- you might be lucky enough to come across one!

What are fire grenades? From the 1870s through the early 1900s, liquid-filled bottles were used to fight small house fires. Today they are rare and collectible.
