Some of God’s greatest treasures are found in the people the world often walks past.

When we reach out to others, we often think we’re the ones giving. But God has a wonderful way of reminding us that His blessings flow both ways. Sometimes the very people we hope to encourage become the ones He uses to encourage us.

Nearly four years ago, two of our children began reaching out to a man who faithfully watched over the cars outside a local store. What began as simple acts of kindness soon became a genuine friendship. Over time, they had the joy of watching God completely transform his life.

After he came to know Jesus, everything changed. He loved talking about the Lord and sharing the hope he had found with anyone who would listen. The last time our children saw him, he spoke with such joy about knowing Jesus and the peace of knowing that heaven would one day be his home.

One day, our daughter rushed out of the store feeling anxious and overwhelmed. He was waiting outside for her and said..."The Lord wants me to give you this.” Then he handed her a verse from Isaiah:

“For I am the Lord your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, ‘Do not fear; I will help you.’” — Isaiah 41:13

She has never forgotten that moment. And as soon as she came home, she shared what had happened with us all.
Her panicky feelings went away! The one they had encouraged became someone who encouraged them too!

Yesterday, our friend passed away after being hit by a truck.

Our hearts are sad because we will miss him. But we know that he is rejoicing in heaven with Jesus. He spoke of him to everyone he met.

What an impact he had on our children's lives... and on so many more! Our three year old granddaughter would say, "Tita, I got to see my friend today."😊 He touched her little heart too.

You never know what the Lord may do through one small act of love. Some of God’s greatest treasures are found in the people the world often walks past. ❤️

Many of you know Ruthie, but some of you may not know her story.

Ruthie came into our home when she was just 10 months old. She was with us for about a year before being placed in an orphanage. Around the age of three and a half, we were able to adopt her and her siblings and they came back home to us!❤️

Watching the Lord write her story has been one of the greatest blessings of our lives.

Today, Ruthie is a wonderful wife, the mother of two beautiful children, and a young woman who loves the Lord and has a heart for serving others.

Recently Ruthie shared with us that she would love to create "Ruthie’s Garden" here on the farm.🍓🌱🌻🌷

We love what she came up with! She imagines small raised garden boxes where children can plant seeds, watch vegetables grow, and even pick something they’ve helped care for. This could be a place where children, and families can not only enjoy the animals on the farm but also experience the joy that comes from working in a garden.

For many children—and adults—it can also be a wonderful form of therapy, bringing peace, and the joy of getting to watch something grow.

We’re excited to begin with our very first garden box. Lord willing, it will be the first of many.

If you would like to help us get started with the first garden box you can give to my paypal address at [email protected] or
you can go to iom-online.com and give through pushpay or paypal for Hidden Treasures.

The cost to build one box will be around $370.

My view, as I take a quick coffee break.🐓❤️
It's a foggy, rainy morning here at the farm. Some of our smaller chicks have learned to get out of the chicken coup and love roaming around the property. I love seeing them!
I am so grateful to the Lord for his goodness and faithfulness in every situation!
God still does miracles. He is still working! He is making a way in every situation!! You can count on Him!!!❤️🙌 He IS faithful!!

Loving people means walking beside them—not only in the joyful moments, but also in the difficult ones.

Today, we’re walking alongside a precious family that is so dear to our hearts. They are facing an incredibly difficult season, and we are doing everything we can to support them. Out of much love for them, we won't be sharing the details of what they’re facing, but we know that God knows every need.

Would you join us in praying for this precious family? They are like family to us.

Above all, we ask for your prayers.
If the Lord places it on your heart to give, your gift will be a tremendous blessing. It will go directly toward helping meet their immediate needs. It is hard to express just how much your love and support mean to us and SO many!!

Our Little Overcomer 🐥

Not every little chick gets an easy start.

This sweet little one was born with a weak leg and could barely keep up. Our children spent days loving and helping it, and making sure it had everything it needed. They weren't ready to give up!

Today, it’s outside with the rest of the flock. It may still hobble a little, but it’s eating, growing, and following the others everywhere they go.

Watching this little chick has reminded me of something my dad used to say to our children:

"Your an overcomer!"

Your beginning does not determine your future.

Some people begin life with challenges they didn’t choose. Some children carry hurts that no one else can see. But love, and lots of patience, can change so much.

This little chick may never walk exactly like the others.

But that's okay-

It’s an overcomer....and I think there's a little bit of that story in all of us. ❤️🐥

Over the years, so many of you have prayed for us, encouraged us, and helped us continue the work the Lord has placed before us. We truly couldn’t do it without you.

As I looked around the farm recently, I was reminded how many little things quietly work together to make it possible to serve others. The children who come here, the families we walk alongside, the meals we share, the animals we care for, and the places Enrique travels to minister are all connected. None of it happens without the Lord’s faithful provision.

In the months ahead, we have several projects coming up, along with Enrique’s ministry trips to the islands. We also continue walking with children and families the Lord brings into our lives. Along with those ministries come many practical needs—maintaining the farm, caring for the animals, repairing and maintaining our vehicles, keeping our home in good repair, and providing food boxes and other necessities for families in need. These are the quiet, behind-the-scenes things that make it possible for us to continue serving.

If the Lord lays it on your heart to partner with us through prayer, a one-time gift, or ongoing support, it would be such a blessing. Every gift, no matter the size, helps meet these practical needs and allows us to continue serving where God has called us.

I also wanted to mention that I’ve been sharing more stories and ministry updates on our Hidden Treasures page. If these posts encourage you, we’d love for you to follow the page. And if you feel led to share a post, it helps more people learn about the ministry, pray for the work, and become part of what God is doing here.

Thank you for praying for us, encouraging us, and standing with us. We are so grateful for each one of you.

If you would like to help, you can give to my paypal address at [email protected] (this comes to us right away and helps with immediate needs) or you can also go to iom-online.com and give through pushpay or paypal for Hidden Treasures. ❤️🙏🏼

Yesterday was a bit of a sad day. In the morning, we lost our favorite chicken. Our kids had cared for her for several days, trying to help her lay an egg that had become stuck inside of her. 🥹 Our little granddaughter loved her very much.
Then, to our surprise, later that evening our daughter arrived home and found that her sweet cat had passed away in her room. She was shocked, and needless to say, many tears were shed into the late hours of the night. Early this morning, she and Enrique set out to bury our furry friend in a pretty spot on the farm. It was a rainy, foggy, stormy day.

This week I have talked with a family walking through cancer with their child. I have gotten calls from mamas wondering how they were going to put food on the table. There are families facing what seem like impossible situations that break our hearts.

But one thing I have come to realize is that not even the smallest, seemingly insignificant event escapes our Father’s notice.

I thought about that as I talked with my little granddaughter about her favorite chicken dying. Her little face was trying to understand where her “Tiny Baby,” as she named her, had gone. I thought about it again as I watched our daughter and my husband… all decked out in their boots and raincoats… walking off into the distance to bury our beloved cat.

In Matthew, Jesus tells us that our Heavenly Father even knows every time a sparrow falls. Costa Rica has over 900 species of birds. Can you imagine knowing every time a bird falls and caring about each one?
If God cares so faithfully for the birds… how much more does He care about us?!

I believe He cares when we hurt, when we are sad, and when we don’t know what to do. He cares for a hurting mother, and He cares for a little child’s broken heart.
The Bible says, “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted.” It also says, “In all their distress He too was distressed.”

As Enrique and our daughter walked back up the hill after burying her sweet cat, Enrique said, “Maybe this rainy, gloomy day is God’s way of showing you that He is grieving with you. He sees you."

I don’t know or understand many things… but I do know that we have a loving, compassionate Father who notices every tear, every concern, and every fear. I am so grateful for a Father who doesn’t just meet our pain from a distance… He meets us in it. ❤️🙌
