It has been a privilege and honor to serve you for the last 107 years, but times have changed. The changes in clothing styles and fabrics, the Covid virus shut-down, the devastating 2022 Christmas freeze that damaged our plant and equipment, and the post-virus economic situation means we have reached the point where our business is no longer viable. The Modern Laundry is now permanently closed.
Those of you who have items you have not yet had delivered or have not retrieved from the laundry may pick them up at the main office at 31 East Second Street by July 15th. Those of you who are rental customers who would like to purchase their rental items may do so at a price to be determined, otherwise we will retrieve them at your convenience.
Susie Shoemaker, our manager, will be at the plant for the foreseeable future to assist you in this transition.
