This first floor dryer vent cleaning turned into a serious airflow problem

The dryer vent was routed through the crawl space — but instead of proper metal ducting, it was installed using PVC pipe. That’s a big issue. Dryer vents should never be run in PVC due to lint buildup, static, and fire risk.

When I tested the airflow, it was extremely restricted due to heavy lint accumulation inside the duct. After a full professional dryer vent cleaning, airflow was restored and the system is now operating safely and efficiently.

In this video, I tackle one of the worst dryer vents of 2025 — a crawl-space vent that hadn’t been cleaned in 19 years. The buildup was so heavy that the dryer was barely breathing. After a full deep clean, the airflow jumped from 600 CFM to over 1200 CFM, instantly restoring efficiency and cutting dry times dramatically.

HA! I was going to walk away but I couldn't... These people have children...

This job had it all — a dryer on the second floor, a side vent with a fully clogged screen, and to top it off... the rudest customer I've ever dealt with. EVER DEALT WITH!! Their dryer was taking 4 full cycles to dry one load, and the machine was so hot you could cook an egg!

This guy... This is a man I miss... While I truly wish all the dads out there a Happy Father's Day, I'm quite jealous of your ability to celebrate... I miss you Pops... I'm still working on becoming half the man you were. I'd give anything to talk to ya again Dad... Maybe update you on how things are going or just talk about how you couldn't catch fish... I've never been very religious however I sure hope I can one day get another hug letting me know regardless, YOU GOT MY BACK!
