Some things I really need people to understand about my cancellation policy. Because things are getting out of hand with this.
Me having to cancel on a client is 100% not the same as a client canceling on me! I survive off the money I make to live. The money you so kindly pay me is my income. So when you cancel on me it affects me a lot more then if I cancel on you. All you are not receiving is a clean. I’m not taking anything from you financially, if anything, it saves you money to not have me come that day or week.
One thing I will put in my policy, is as long as we reschedule within those 48 hours, and I can fit you in, I won’t charge the cancellation fees. If I can’t fit you in for a reschedule then we will have to figure out a way to make me coming still, work, or I have to charge you what the policy says. I felt like before 48 hours is plenty of time to be able to let me know. That is your guys responsibility to be able to remember you have a house cleaner and that you need to cancel within 48 hours to not be charged (again per situation, it depends. I’m not an unreasonable person, I’m not ringing you for your money) As a matter of fact. I show how much care I put into cleaning your homes. I do my best to take care of each and every one of you, to make you feel good and relieved of stress. I move my schedules around to fit all of you and satisfy all of you! Because I care about all of you and your homes.
It is extremely hurtful that I have clients telling me that they have to cancel and reschedule for me so that should mean they don’t need to listen to my policy. I run this business by myself, I have 20+clients to fit into every two weeks. Sometimes in order to fit in a deep clean, to make more money, I have to ask to reschedule clients. Or if I get sick I have to cancel, that is my decision to lose that money. Or maybe another client needs to have a different day so I’ll reschedule another so that I may be able to make it work for both, and make more money. I even tell everyone in the consultations that sometimes I have to reschedule or cancel a bunch because I’m trying to make everything work for 20+people all by myself. I don’t ever mean to inconvenience anyone. I do apologize. I do have this policy in motion to protect myself. And if my clients cannot respect that when I need it, and they cannot understand where I’m coming from and what I have to do, and if they can’t understand the difference between me canceling on a client and a client canceling on me It can be hard on me. It is your responsibility as my clients, to cancel before 48 hours. I am NOT an unreasonable person. I will take a look at the situation and determine for myself if I trust that your reason for cancellation is a true emergency. almost everyone uses Covid as the reason. So I have decided that I will not grant not having to pay to just every single person who says that it’s Covid. Because if I did, I would make 0 money off of this policy. I cannot afford that. If you can show me proof of a positive test within 48 hours, I am 100% willing to wave your fee. This will all be in my policy.
I understand having to pay cancellation fees can be very frustrating. And that things happen. But going forth, if you are my client still after reading this post, you 100% agree to my policy’s. I will have contracts typed up for everyone to sign by the end of next week. I have been in hell personally these last handful of months. A huge shout out to all my clients who have been incredibly understanding of this. This world is full of things that will knock you down.
I am fighting to stay on my feet rn. I have been overwhelmed, sleep deprived, and I have been in a never ending cycle of bad things happening to me. I know they say that my personal problems don’t matter in a place of work. But everyone is going through something. Being kind and understanding is the most important thing in this world. So please. I mean this in the most respectful way possible. If this post and my policy is something you don’t agree with. I would love to help you find a new cleaner because I cannot handle this anymore! Again I mean this post is the most respectful way possible! I always strive to make everyone as happy as I can. I know I have been struggling as of the last handful of months. But this is when I need your true support the most. Because I try to be supportive of you. Thank you for reading
