Are you Flooding. Here's some helpful tips.

1: First see if you can stop the water intrusion. Many times clogged downspouts and gutters are the cause and easily fixed.

2: Shut off any Breakers that control any electrical outlets near the water source , or the Flooding area,

3:Vacuum up all excess water as quickly as possible. If you do not have a wet dry vacuum you could try soaking it up with towels or sheets and blankets. The main thing is get the water up.

4: Place fans / air Movers and dehumidifiers in place as soon as possible.

5: if the water is seeping through a wall or has gotten high enough to get into your wall, cut the bottom portion of your wall just above your seal plate.
The seal plate is the 2x4 that lays on the floor behind your drywall or other wall board.
Remove the trim , then cut about 2 in above the floor that will get you above the seal plate and allow you to dry the cavity out in the wall where the water has intruded. Then you can simply put your trim back up without having to replace all of your drywall after it's dried out.
If the water has gotten more than one foot deep then it is best to remove the drywall at a 4 ft level. it makes it easier to replace and then you can be assured to get the whole area dried out.
Remove any wet insulation because the "R" factor is non-existent after insulation becomes wet. Therefore your insulation is no good just throw it away.

4: Mold can start growing as fast as 24 hours after the area becomes wet. It is guaranteed to grow after 48 hours if the area remains wet (without any drying process in place). If you're in the drying process many times you can prevent the mold growth even if the area is wet.
Mold needs two things to grow, food and moisture. The food is every wall in your house a water source can be multiple things.
