Hand hygiene systems fail before people do.
In a survey of infection preventionists, 89% named empty soap dispensers as the number one barrier to hand hygiene compliance. Empty towel dispensers followed at 81%, and poor dispenser placement at 70%.
Read that again. The biggest obstacle to hand hygiene isn't a person forgetting to wash their hands. It's a dispenser nobody refilled.
This is International Infection Prevention Week, and it's a good moment for facility managers to walk their own buildings: are those dispensers full at 2 PM on a Tuesday, or only at 7 AM when the crew arrives?
DSA builds restocking and dispenser checks into every routine sanitizing program across Georgia's schools, healthcare facilities, and public buildings. Not because it's glamorous, but because it's where protection actually breaks down.
Clean spaces. Better business.
