Natural house cleaners: what natural cleans, and what it can't
"Natural" is not a regulated word. I could bottle pond water, print
a leaf on the label and legally call it natural. 🍃
Please do not buy that. Please also never mix vinegar with bleach.
[Switches to serious face.]
Here is what you should actually get when you ask for natural house
cleaners: plant-based products on the surfaces where they genuinely
work, and real disinfectant where they do not. Vinegar and baking
soda earn their reputation on glass, counters and grease. They are
not what handles mold or a bathroom that needs sanitizing, and
vinegar will eat the finish off natural stone.
So green products are our default. We reach for something stronger
only when a house has gone past what plant-based can fix, and you
hear about it before we do it, not after.
