20 years ago, Angie and I launched Busy Brooms. It was exhilarating and terrifying. We both had young kids so we kept our jobs until we knew we could contribute financially to our families. Within 3 months of launching, it was clear Busy Brooms would do well.

Angie and I had 3 awesome years together until our schedules (parenting young kids) as well as trying to best accommodate our clients' schedules became too challenging. We went our separate ways professionally and launched our solo cleaning businesses.

My clients feel like family to me. I love getting to know them and their pets.

January 2026 will mark 20 years of cleaning. I have been so blessed to have such kind clients to work with over the years. I love my job as much as I did 20 years ago. I don't know how many years my body will allow me to continue to clean but I am thankful for every day that I can.

I'm good at 2 things: cleaning houses and trash talk.
Over Christmas break, a client's 3rd grade son started talking about his favorite football player, who is a MN Viking. Unacceptable! The Pack would be playing the Vikings in just a few short days so we placed a friendly wager. I'd owe him a bottle of his favorite soda if the Vikings won and he'd owe me a picture declaring his love for the Pack when they won. He wanted to double the bet, which I was more than happy to do.
Game day was glorious! I sent smack talk for his mom to tell him and she sent me pictures of him in despair in front of the TV.
I was SO excited to go to work today. The drawings look great displayed in my work binder

Let's talk about moms and hazards in the work place. (Trust me - they go together!)
My mom and I tag team cleaning a house. I mopped the floor and while I was waiting for the floor to dry, I cleaned the shower. While cleaning the shower, the mop slid across the shower door and hooked itself in the door handle - locking me in the shower
I called out to my mom, asking her to free me. One would expect a mom to come running to help her kid and Mom did - but she needed to "take a picture for Dad" first.
I can't get good help 😂
