Here is a well used first generation Scout 3 control mounted on our 200 ft Extension Reel doing a septic inspection. This camera set up has been in daily use since 2021. The Effluent Disposal Area for this septic system is a concrete chamber system. The camera head with built in 512hz sonde transmitter was able to locate the chamber location. The inspecting technician is then able to excavate to the side edge of the chamber and insert the camera to check effluent level and conditions inside the chamber to determine how well it is functioning. In this case the technician was also able to use the sonde transmitter to locate the air vent location for the system and determine it had been removed and covered over. With the air vent removed the septic system will not "breath" as designed and may have poor performance or a shortened life. We do recommend a little better housekeeping cleaning of the camera system, but in the end this camera system keeps on working and making money for the Inspection Company.
