We've had the privilege of cleaning for this couple for years.

Jerry is a businessman. Gloria a musician. Together, they're still very active—exploring national parks, spending time with their grandchildren, and finding ways to make a difference in the lives of others.

On the day I was there cleaning, Gloria was getting ready to play saxophone with a five-piece jazz ensemble for residents at the Agrace Adult day Care facility.

There's something special about music. When memories become difficult to hold onto, a familiar song can sometimes bring a person back to a place, a feeling or a moment in their life.

While she was out sharing her gift, I was caring for something else they value deeply—their home.

It was filled with beautiful Oriental wool rugs, each one deserving of careful attention. Our job was simple: clean them properly, protect their beauty, and help them last for many more years.

And I couldn't help but see the connection.

Sometimes you don't realize how much your carpet has changed—until you see it clean again.

Recently, I had the pleasure of cleaning for a Sonja, her daughter, and her five-year-old grandson who live together in a beautiful downtown Madison condo.

And, of course, there was Violet. 🐱❤️

A beautiful cat who clearly runs the place.

They had put off having the carpets cleaned for quite some time, and eventually, the years of everyday life were beginning to show.

Family.
Foot traffic.
Life with a five-year-old.
And one very loved cat.

After the cleaning, Sonja walked through the home and said something that made my day:

“It looks brand new!”

She was so pleased with the transformation that she told me she wanted to have it cleaned every year from now on.

I think that's one of the best reminders of why regular cleaning matters. You don't necessarily need to replace what's worn—you may just need to give it the care it deserves.

And Violet?

Well… she wasn't particularly impressed with the cleaning machine. 😂

She kept a safe distance while we worked, but once the machine was gone and the carpet was fresh and clean again, she was perfectly happy to reclaim her home.

After a career in real estate, Buzz now spends much of her time doing something even more important to her—caring for her grandson.

We love our dogs. ❤️🐾

There’s something special about working in a place that brings together old character and modern design.

I recently had the pleasure of cleaning carpets at Longfellow Lofts, a beautiful downtown apartment community with two very different buildings. One is a historic school that has been converted into residential living. The other is a newer, modern building designed for today’s lifestyle.

Different architecture. Different personalities. One thing in common: a real commitment to taking good care of the people who live there.

I especially enjoyed working with the property manager, Maddi, who was welcoming and friendly, and their maintenance man, Ziggy, who went out of his way to be helpful when I needed him. Those little things make a big difference.

It seems like sustainability and the well-being of residents—including their four-legged family members—are important considerations. We were able to use our low-moisture cleaning process and pet-conscious products to refresh the carpets and keep the cleaning approach environmentally responsible and comfortable for the residents.

I recently had the privilege of cleaning for a retired couple who own a beautiful rental near the lake. The view alone is enough to make you slow down for a minute and just take it in.
