Nashville Then: A 1998 Highlight – The Houston-Benton ferry is heading toward the Tennessee River shore of Houston County with a couple vehicles they picked up on the Benton County side on July 20, 1998. The ferry began carrying passengers on July 16, marking the first time in more than 30 years a new public ferry has begun operating in Tennessee. Nashville Then: A 1992 Highlight – Stacey Smith, fleet maintenance worker, hoses down one of Purity Dairies’ new novelty milk trucks, painted in a black-and-white bovine motif Nov. 13, 1992.
