ea in my head. I did a little research and came to the conclusion that window cleaning was under-served in my local area. Having cleaned windows myself over a number of years as part of my work as a hospital janitor I knew I was more than capable of undertaking such work and decided to start my own business doing just that. There was a slight difficulty: I had absolutely no equipment and no start-up money. But, full of determination, I used my last $10 to pay for my DBA and my friend Drew lent me some equipment to help get me started, which just left me with one major problem – I still had no ladder. I told the Pastor all about how watching him at work had inspired me to start my own business and how I still needed a ladder and he responded by asking me whether I’d tried praying. And the truth was, I hadn’t! So I straightaway prayed, "Lord, if you mean for me to do this then I’ll need your help". Now during that time of year it was Ludington’s annual “throw your junk to the curb” weekend. I drove down every street in the neighborhood looking for a ladder. I prayed, "Lord if you mean for me to do this, I need a ladder". After some hours of fruitless looking I’d almost given up hope but then as I turned on to the very last street, there stood a discarded 15 foot foldable ladder! So I now had all I needed. I loaded my stuff into a 2001 Cadillac STS and went to my first job. As time progressed I purchased a truck and more equipment, reinvesting profits back in until I had what I needed. This year I purchased a newer truck and brand new ladders. I have been blessed with a fair amount of business. I believe that this year was my year to become known and that next year, the sky’s the limit! The services I now offer include window cleaning, eco-friendly house washing and pressure washing (decks, concrete, sidewalks etc.).
