It’s hard to put into words what someone like Larry meant to me—and to so many others. For over 20 years, sitting in his chair was something I genuinely looked forward to. Sure, I always walked away with an amazing haircut, but more than that, I got time with a dear friend. Larry had a way of making you feel seen, heard, and cared for. His advice was always honest, loving, and somehow perfectly timed for whatever stage of life I was in.
He greeted me with a big smile and an even bigger hug every single time. That was just his nature—humble, kind, generous with his heart and time. He had this quiet wisdom and a way of turning even a simple story into a lesson or a laugh.
Years ago, Larry told me he enjoyed reading my Facebook posts because they were uplifting. He said that’s what he tried to do too—lift people up. “That’s what it’s all about,” he said. That moment stuck with me. Since then, I’ve tried to carry that torch—sharing small reminders, bits of encouragement, or simply words that might brighten someone’s day. That’s the kind of influence Larry had.
I think about his photos often—peaceful shots of rivers and trees, the quiet beauty of the world he walked through and wanted to share with all of us. I can still hear the sound of the water in those videos, feel the calm they brought. They live rent free in my mind and bring a deep peace to my soul.
Larry showed us how to slow down, appreciate the little things, and live with open hearts. I will cherish his friendship for the rest of my life. And I’ll keep trying to live a life as full of love and presence as the one he so graciously modeled for us.
Thank you, Larry—for the conversations, the wisdom, the laughter, and the light. You are deeply missed and forever loved. 🌿💙
