Last week, we lost someone who meant a great deal to us — Nick Cappillo.
Nick battled osteosarcoma and, through that fight, ultimately had his arm amputated. But losing an arm never changed who Nick was. His strength, humor, determination, and the way he carried himself through everything left a lasting impact on the people around him.
Nick was a close friend of Michael Lewton and Isaac Knight, and his story became the inspiration behind the name One Armed Haul. We wanted our company to carry a small piece of the toughness and character Nick showed throughout his life.
Even though Nick isn’t on the truck with us, his spirit is. Every job, every long day, and every time we keep pushing when things get difficult, we’ll have a reason to remember where the name came from.
One Armed Haul is more than just a name to us. It’s a tribute to a friend we’ll never forget.
Rest easy, Nick. This one’s for you. ❤️
