I often get asked “what is paint correction?” Basically it’s a new term for the old school phrase: cut, buff, polish, and wax. I don’t wax vehicles or Harleys after taking all the time to get the paint looking as good as it can get. Wax only last up to 3 months if you’re lucky in our climate! I always ceramic coat after the buffing is completed. I’ve attached some pictures of the process I use and what the ceramic initially looks like upon application. This vehicle had single stage paint which is the color and clear coat combined in each spray out. This can be scary as the color comes off with the buffing process as it polishes. I also only use orbital polishers with 3” pads to reduce the risk of burning through edges or leaving swirl marks! The blue pad shown is a new one for reference. This does not happen with a 2 stage base coat/clear coat paint job. The rainbow effect you see is called flashing and lets me know when it’s time to start buffing off the excess ceramic to prevent streaks and high spots. The end result is always incredible and last so much longer than wax! Truly helpful in our NW climate! I have a variety of ceramic coatings, all made by Adam’s polishes, good for 1-2 yrs, 7 yrs, and 9 yrs! Thanks for reading!
