During a Comfort Shield Attic Insulation install, our customer had a dryer vent that was allowing for a point of entry to the rats that were making a home in the attic. We sealed around the vent with rodent control fill fabric.🚫🐀

Welcome back, green grass! 🌱 As temperatures rise, lawns may need slightly more water. As a general rule of thumb for warm-season grasses:

✔ 2–3 days per week
✔ Early morning only (ideally between 4 AM–9 AM)
✔ Water deeply & less often (encourages root growth)
✔Apply about 1–1.25 inches of total water per week, including rainfall

It’s time for more Mosquito Facts from Horry County Mosquito Control.

The department’s main objective is to reduce the spread of mosquito-borne illnesses in our community.

Mosquitoes carry serious diseases, infecting millions of people worldwide each year. South Carolina is not immune to these mosquito-borne diseases. These viruses and parasites can be harmful to both humans and their pets.

In South Carolina, some of the most common mosquito-borne diseases include:

- West Nile
- Eastern equine encephalitis
- La Cross encephalitis
- Saint Louis encephalitis
- Dog/cat heartworm

Horry County Mosquito Control targets mosquitoes through larviciding before larvae has a chance to become flying, biting adults, and through spraying to mitigate existing populations.
