$50.00 is applied to the estimate if contract is accepted. We make appointments by phone, email and text with our customers. There are no set days for your service . Today is special and what a day it is.... 40 Years Ago I started GTA Services. Oh my what a ride it has been and how my life changed forever that day all thanks to George Harkness , he was a Grandfather ( many thought I was his grandson) to me and a true blessing in my life.

A path was set that led me that same year to meet the one God choose for me to walk with Shirah Parsons who has been by my side through thick and thin. Then two fine boys Parsons and Conrad , appeared and what a joy they have been.

It seems like yesterday and forever all rolled into one. Customers who became friends and family. Watching their lives change as mine did.. our children being born, growing up in our wallets ( Iphones now ! LOL , marrying having children... watching them grow up and servicing THEIR homes. Ivy services the children of the parents I service. The blessings I have received from you all are too numerous to count. There is a bright future ahead for Ivy as he moves to carry on the family business.... One Day ! not just yet though. I love what I do and the people I meet.

None of this would have been possible without you all and the cherished memories I will carry forever with more to come ! For that, I and my family thank you ! ❤️☺️

Today marks the 35th year of our company. This man George F Harkness gave me a gift that has been a blessing in my life. Since that day God has been good and I am truly blessed with a livelihood that had carried me to meet many many wonderful people from all walks of life. From that day in 1986 , it has been a dream for me and at times like all things scary and challenging... through it all God blessed me with a wonderful Wife Melanie Shirah Parsons ,two fantastic sons Ivy and Conrad. It all seems like yesterday. When George and I bought an orange Datsun truck and swapped parts off of it and my yellow Datsun to replace the rusted out parts of Georges black truck..... we painted it white afterwards. All of this came from a meeting of my new Sunday school teacher in 1972 who became my friend , my grandfather, my mentor and next to my Father one of the most influential men my life that caused my my cup to runneth over..... Thank you to the many friends I have met and look forward to to meeting and most importantly my family whom I love with all my heart !

This is a sad story about an owner who lost two beloved pets due to a flea treatment. It is possible it the owner killed the dog ..not on purpose. I caution pet owners dealing with fleas to be careful !! Your desire to rid your loved one of fleas quickly may kill them because you are poisoning them to death. Especially Cats. Many owners will buy these products....they use a form of pesticide clearly stated on label along with Use Recommendations. The chemicals have Cholinesterase ( it is the chemical in the body that sends the signals to the brain for muscle movement ) Inhibitors in them that affect the nervous system of Dogs and especially Cats. Alot of topical Once a Month Flea Treatments also have these same chemicals.. Now if your pet is on a " Once a Month " flea treatment the level of Cholinesterase has already been lowered. THEN you buy a Flea soap or spray like this and treat them YOU ARE LOWERING the level further.... then you say " Well thats not working fast enough on Fluffy !! " so you TREAT AGAIN ! and quickly which is NOT RECOMMENDED ! Then you say " Well the recommended dosage is never right MORE is better !! ( never mind the fact the maker spent Millions of dollars in research and EPA approval to figure out how much it would take to kill the Flea and not the dog. ) So you apply it at a HIGHER rate to kill the Fleas faster !! " Yeah thats the Ticket ! " Lowering the Cholinesterase level to a dangerous point of convulsions and death . I have seen owners kill their cats and I imagine small dogs are just as susceptible to the same risk. Before you treat your pet..ask yourself this question: Do I have my pet on a " Once a Month " Flea treatment ? If yes Consult your Vet about what flea treatments are available that wont interact with your current treatment. There is not silver bullet for Fleas control..it takes time... Your Patience is the key for your pets survival. If you need and interior home or yard treatment then call your favorite pest management person to help you.

Some good news.. As the Mosquito season will soon be upon us. I found out yesterday that Mosquitos are not carriers of COVID-19 . So make sure no standing water , cleaned gutters, drains and flower pot bases are kept in check.. Don't let someone trick with that scare tactic.😉

You may not know this but since we deal with mixing chemicals everyday, keeping our hands clean is very important. We also come in contact many customers on a daily basis so anti bacterial gel is standard in our trucks. We also do Not go to work sick or Go to Customers homes if they are sick.
In light of the COVID-19 concerns we will be wearing disposable surgical gloves in your home to reduce contact , wear respirator upon request and practice the latest new thing " Social Distancing " to offer some peace of mind while in your home.
We always have done inside and outside service , however during this time if you rather us not come in , we will service the outside and come back if you need inside service.
Hopefully this event will pass quickly and life can get back to the fun we all enjoy.
Don't forget Mosquito season starts soon!!

Mosquito season is approaching and we are ready to meet your Outdoor needs. Some info to consider when using a Mosquito service in Ga. Ask if their Technician(s) have taken and passed the Ga. Department of Agriculture Technicians Licensing Exam. This license assures you the Technician has a good "on the job" working knowledge and classroom training of the type chemical they are applying around your home. As of now Not all Mosquito companies are required to have State Certified Tech's that is because Mosquito Control was not the concern it is today with Zika around. Termite and Pest Control Companies like ours that do Household Pest & Termite Control ARE required to have State Licensed Technicians. Ivy has his State Technicians License and can show it to you. . IMO this is a question I would ask. I would want to make sure the person about to spray chemical in the air around My home is state trained and knows the cause and affect of what they are doing. Now lets go play outside !!!! 😎

In recent days Breda Pest Control has been running a radio ad that in my opinion portrays Termite Bait Systems as an inferior treatment , while promoting that they perform Liquid Termidor Liquid treatments. Termidor is a good product it is also is the most expensive. Since coming off patent there are other less expensive chemicals with the same active ingredient that perform as well which could translate into lower costs for homeowners. I believe there is a balance to termite treatments based on the size and type house we treat. I am not fond of running around the Metro Area dumping 100's and 100's of gallons of Pesticide around my customers homes and our Environment. Then repeating the Pesticide Dumping procedure when the contract expires and requires another complete treatment to extend the contract. To me that is not Environmentally responsible. There are homes ( small slab homes) where a lower volume liquid treatment makes more sense for protection and economics. Larger basement and crawl space brick and block homes still require 100's of gallons of Pesticide ( depending on size ) even with reduce volume treatment techniques which make a Termite Bait System more affordable and Environmentally responsible on our part. Termite Baiting combined with Liquid spot treatments use Grams of Termite Bait and 10-20 gallons of Pesticide which is better for our Environment. Plus there is NEVER a complete retreatment requirement as long as you keep your contract. With Termite Baiting you have the best of both worlds... a Termite Bait System for long term colony control and Liquid spot treatments for Short term structural control should termite activity be found on your home. Every company has there own way of doing business and Breda certainly is successful in what they do. I just do not think it is right to cast Termite Bait System treatments ( what appears to me ) as an inferior treatment method to the public. For many of our customers who are concerned about Pesticides and what we are doing around their homes, a Termite Bait System is a very Environmentally responsible way to protect your home, children and pets. We have had good success with Termite Bait Systems since 2001... 17 years. These systems are approved by the EPA and The Georgia Department of Agriculture. Breda's Liquid treatments are not bad.... and neither are Termite Bait Systems. Just a difference of opinion on their use. There is no " end all be all " 100% forever termite treatment out there, Nor would you want that around your home, children or pets. In the end we both want the same thing to protect your home from termites.
