In November 2021, I received an official diagnosis of OCD, adding to a list of previously diagnosed mental health conditions, including PTSD, MDD, Anxiety, and bipolar disorder. These challenges have often kept me awake at night, with insomnia becoming an unwanted companion in my bedtime routine. However, my decision to open an on-the-go auto detail service and residential and business janitorial cleaning business, "Sweep Dreams- Alchemy Schemes LLC," was driven by a powerful combination of reasons.
First and foremost, my OCD played a significant role in this decision. OCD has a way of making one hyper-focused on detail and cleanliness, and I decided to channel this aspect of my condition into a business that thrives on precision and attention to detail. It's a way for me to turn a potential weakness into a strength.
But beyond that, I'm hopeful that as my business grows and the workload increases, it will provide me with a positive distraction. It's my way of keeping my mind, body, and soul consumed in a productive venture. I'm optimistic that this involvement will help alleviate some of the symptoms of my insomnia, or at the very least, put them into remission for a while.
The name "Sweep Dreams- Alchemy Schemes LLC" holds a special meaning. It's not just a play on words, but a reminder to myself that I've been battling my mental health conditions for a long time. Instead of letting them define me negatively, I'm using them as positive reinforcements. The "Sweep Dreams" part signifies my pursuit of a cleaner, brighter future, both in my personal life and in the services I provide, and ultimately providing me with a "goodnight, sweet dreams" after a busy workday."Alchemy Schemes" reflects the transformation and transmutation of my challenges into opportunities and success.
In essence, my decision to open my own business is not only about financial independence and pursuing my passion but also a personal journey to prove to myself that my mental health conditions do not define who I am. I'm determined to use them as sources of strength and motivation to create a brighter, cleaner, and more fulfilling future for myself and those I serve through my business.
