Most âArrowheadsâ Arenât Arrowheads⌠and Thatâs the Cool Part đ¤Żđި
Central Texas folks love showing me their âarrowheadsâ⌠but hereâs the truth:
đ Most of those points were never on an arrow.
đ The big ones you find? Those were usually atlatl dart points (a prehistoric spear-thrower) or blades #, not bow-and-arrow tips.
đ And those giant 4â6 inch beauties? Knives and blades, not arrows.
Real arrowheads are tiny, thin, and often under 1½ inches.
If it looks like it could take down a bison by itself⌠it probably wasnât on an arrow. đ
The good news?
Atlatl points and blades are usually older, cooler, and tell a deeper story about the people who lived here long before us.
If your land has a river, creek, or springâand it keeps turning up âarrowheadsââI can help you figure out whether youâve got true arrow points, atlatl dart points, or ancient blades.
