Protozoa & Nematodes - The Nutrient Releasers!

Protozoa are eating bacteria in your soil right now — and that's how your plants are getting fed.

When protozoa consume bacteria and fungi, they excrete nitrogen in plant-available forms. It's one of the most important nutrient transfer mechanisms in the soil, and it's happening invisibly beneath every paddock.

And nematodes? 95% of them are on your side — balancing microbial populations, mineralizing nutrients, and opening up pores for air and water movement. The ones that damage roots are a symptom, not the cause. They thrive in compacted, high-stress soils. Address the conditions, and the population will shift.

Your soil type is hiding in a mason jar, and it only takes one night to find out.

Fill a jar half full with soil, top it up with water, shake it hard, and leave it overnight. Sand settles first, then silt, then clay. Estimate your percentages and you have your soil texture. Darker water means more organic matter.

That's it. One jar, one night, a lot of information.
