Raccoon going down the chimney decided to visit down in the basement because the damper was open.
They closed off the fireplace in the basement, thinking that the raccoon was stuck in the chimney.
I trapped the raccoon the first night, just need to monitor to make sure there are no more.
Raccoons climb in and out of chimneys just like a good old hollow tree.
In the springtime, the female will have babies on top of the damper to protect them from the males, trying to kill the young pups.
Need to check in monitor the trap daily until the chimney cover arrives from California.

Tis' The season, winter has arrived and critters are moving in.
Squirrels and mice seem to be the issues now.
For mice, people hear strange noises in the ceiling and walls, since the house is closed up the noises may be amplified and seem to last longer, Mice have a way in and out of the structure, their food source may be outside, but it's warm and comfortable inside your home.

I had to pull a skunk yesterday from an egress window well.
He did not want to budge, I lowered a trap into the window well and chased him around with the garden hose until he finally decided to go into the trap. But you can tell at home he was none to happy, as the neighbors had a small complaint about the odor☺️
