Roots can wreak havoc on your drain field if vegetation is left unattended. We pulled all of these roots from around a distribution box and the beginning of the drain field lines. Luckily we were able to get both of them working again, and save the homeowner from replacing them. After a long five weeks of being out of work due to my injury, I have returned to a limited schedule. I am limited to what my helper can complete under my supervision. I will not be able to do as much as I would like, but boy is it nice to be back at it! I will be in the brace and on crutches for another 4-6 weeks with 3-4 months of physical therapy. Im looking forward to a good recovery because I'm ready to get a shovel back in my hands!

Do your research before you hire anyone! I was called out to remove risers that the previous "contractor" said were needed. It turns out the person who was hired was there to pump out the tank for their employer, and they came back after hours to install them. These risers were not properly sealed, and in fact they used the lids from a box of screws to cover the gap! Needless to say, the risers were leaking significantly. Septic tanks should be water tight and structurally sound to prevent the infiltration of storm water into the system. The risers were not even needed since the tank was only one inch below grade. Unless you are in Wake County, as long as access is within six inches of the ground, you do not need access risers in NC. Take a look for your self at the quality of their work...
