Hi everyone, I am in need of some donations for the free little garden. I need 3-4 tomato plants and 4-6 belll pepper plants. If you are able to help, please leave plants on our porch (306 E Franklin). Thank you so much. My goal is to get the garden up and running this week!

Notice: Canned food CANNOT go in the little pantry until further notice.
Cans that have frozen (or become moist) can corrode leaching metals and rust into the can causing it to be unsafe to eat.

If you still want to donate cans, please be sure they are in date and leave them on the porch. We will store them and put them out when Liberty starts to thaw.

Other things the pantry could use this winter are:
Paper towels/ napkins/ Kleenex
Boxed dinners/ Mac and cheese/ ramen/ soup not in a can
Coffee/ hot cocoa/ tea
Kids and toddler snacks
Granola bars/ bakery items/ bread
Tampons/ pads/ new menstrual cups
Shampoo/ conditioner/ body wash (kids and adults)
Toothbrush (new in package)/ tooth paste (kids and adults)
Make up samples (new)/ hand sanitizer/ bar soap
Can openers/ hot hands/ gloves
Left over holiday candy

Our neighbors are cold and hungry. When you are out shopping think about things that ebt cannot buy, and things that are not easily accessable to in downtown Liberty

Some exciting news for our ‘hood!!

Thank you Liberty Walmart for the donations from your food drive. Our little pantry and our hearts are full!

I was planning to write a post, just this week about the pantry needing food. I don’t need to that right now, however the pantry is in huge need of hygiene products. Hair care, tampons, pads, soap, laundry detergent, tooth brushes, tooth paste, make up samples, lotion. Think things that can’t be purchased with EBT. Also can openers, small giftable things, candy, cleaning products, paper towels, etc.

Anything above what we can store will be taken to the pantry at First Presbyterian and other pantries around Liberty. Feel free to leave donations in the pantry or on our front porch as we fill when necessary.

Stop by and check out the garden! Tonight in the produce basket we have yellow pear tomatoes, jalapeños, banana peppers and bushsteak tomatoes. Also in the garden are bell peppers and butternut squash.

Feel free to take whatever you’d like out of the basket or pick your own ripe produce!

Thank you for keeping the pantry going, items are coming and going pretty evenly right now. In our back stock we have a lot of canned corn and green beans and rice. Some things that would be good to have on hand are ramen, kids snacks, shelf stable milk, protein of any kind, cereal, feminine hygiene products and any and all other hygiene.

Please enjoy the fresh produce abs share this around the community!

Hi! The little garden is growing and blooming and expanding! Stop by and check it out! In addition to the donations for the free little pantry (our back stock is mostly just cans of green bean and corn at this point) we are also in need of 12 small tomato cages. If you have any extra laying around feel free to leave them on our porch or call and I can pick up. Thank you!

The little free library and pantry was put up to feed the mind and bodies of our neighbors. With yesterday's ruling we feel compelled to help the women in our neighborhood who might find themselves in need of emergency contraception. Plan B is still legal in Missouri. If you would like to donate Plan B you can leave it on the porch anonymously or knock on the door and get a hug because many of us are just not OK right now. Because Plan B has to be stored at specific temperatures we will post a notice in the little house to come to the door. I know it's not ideal.
If you disagree with this post. Please just move on.

Hi friends,

I kind of expected our pantry traffic to decrease once the LFP at First Pres was back up but that has not yet been the case. We are running low on some needed, popular items in our neighborhood. If you are able please think about those in your community this week when you’re at the store or making your online orders. Personal hygiene items, feminine products and laundry detergent go very quickly (think things that EBT doesn’t buy). Other things that we have run out of or running low on include…

Shelf stable milk
Canned pasta ( chef Bogarde type)
Canned or plastic pasta sauce- no glass please!
Canned meat
Ramen
Individual cereal servings
Canned fruit
Dried beans
Juice boxes or pouches
Hand sanitizer-pocket size is great
Bars of soap - even hotel size
Hair care items

Lastly, we have planted the Little Free Garden. There are beans planted along the fence in front of the pantry and cucumbers, tomatoes and bell peppers along the driveway to the left. Once produce starts growing we will put the sign out encouraging our neighbors to take what they need. We also plan to put a produce basket on the fence, feel free to add fresh fruits and veggies to that basket!
