You cleaned your carpets… so why does your house still smell?
It’s more common than you think.
Carpets don’t just hold dirt on the surface. They trap moisture, bacteria, and odors deep in the fibers and even into the padding underneath.
That means even after cleaning, the source of the smell might still be there.
Some of the most common causes:
• Moisture that didn’t fully dry
• Odors trapped deep in the carpet padding
• Residue from cleaning products
• Bacteria breaking down organic material
If your home smells “off” after cleaning, your carpet might be the problem, not your cleaning routine:
If your home has a strange smell that keeps coming back, even after cleaning and checking your crawlspace, it's likely your carpets.
